Friends of the Wild Horse
Supporting the Re-introduction of the Przewalski's Horse in Mongolia
Why should I donate?
The ancestor of our horses must not die!
The Przewalski's Horse is the only surviving wild species of our horses. After World War II, only 13 reproductive animals had survived in zoos and wildparks. By supporting the Wild Horse-reintroduction into Mongolia you also protect an unique ecosystem in the Great Gobi B as well as numerous further rare species.
Who are the "Friends of the Wild Horse"?
Our goal is to re-introduce the Wild Horse into its original habitat in Mongolia. As an association under Swiss law which is exempted from tax, we support the Takhi-reintroduction and provide long-term financial security. Our activities are scientifically accompanied and coordinated by the International Takhi Group ITG.
Where does the Money go to?
Your donations will be invested on location in Mongolia exclusively; the executive board of the ITG works on voluntary basis. Currently we support the project with an annual amount of USD 150‘000.-. To re-introduce one Takhi back into wildlife the costs will sum up to approximatively USD 7000.-
