Democracy helps Conservation Issues

Local and Regional Administrations get more Responsability

Policy of Decentralization is helpful for the Great Gobi B National Park

The policy of nature protection of the central government shall be implemented from the basis by the administrations of the local villages and Aimags. On the other hand the Mongolian government gives a statutory framework by its laws and the Managementplan. It also provides financial support the administration of the Gobi B Strictly Protected Area and the National Park.

Thus it leaves a broad scope for the ITG as well as for the local and regional administrations. The latter shall follow their own agenda, provided that it contributes to the conservation of the National Park. Thus regional and local administrations are obliged to use the means they get out of the decentralisation policy also for the interests of the Great Gobi B SPA - National Park. Collaboration with the ITG sounds promising.

Takhi as a Flagship

In the name of the Takhi as a flagship for the whole area endeavors and measures are bundled, money is being invested, partners are integrated and aligned to the strategy of the ITG.

Conferences with regional and local Representatives

From time to time conferences are arranged to make sure that everybody who is involved has the possibility to exchange their experiences and to discuss urgent issues. At the same time it is a good opportunity for the park administration to keep in contact, to build up a broad network and thus ot circulate their concerns and wishes.

Result from the conference 2012
  • good cooperation
  • positive development of structures and participation
