Takhi-Monitoring

How Takhis use their Habitat

GPS-Survey

Since October 2001 a few Takhis were tagged with collars bearing GPS satellite transmitters. This device provides the exact position of the animals on a regular basis. The corresponding data is transmitted by satellite. This informations are very important to understand how the takhi make use of their habitat.

2013 a camera was attached to the GPS collar, thus allowing to have pictures "taken" by the mare selected for it. They were taken every hour during daytime, one of it is shown here.
